Using 3.11.2 but having trouble backing up the config for Cisco WLC 5800. 1-error : TFTP Backup failed: error with commands or TFTP file not found. Using the Device.Backup.TFTP activity. Device variation with additional command: Showing Running Config is checked and I entered show run. AAA username/password and SSH username/password are filled in along with the initial login requires username/password being checked. Not sure if anyone else has had issues, or perhaps I am missing a critical setting?

Telnet Username
Hi ,
I am trying to use Cattools to back up some Cisco Switches and Routers.
The problem I am having is that the devices are set up for login local and therefore require a Username and a password. I can't seem to find anywhere in the device setup to add the username and when I run the backup job I get
"Specified Username is invaid for device (prompt: Username:)"
This is the same with both the Cisco.Router.General and the Cisco.Switch.IOS types.
Help please !

Backup of Cisco SF-300 ( small bussiness switch )
We´re not able to backup the config of those SF-300 switches, it is always ends up with error message "did not received command prompt after connecting via SSH" , probably because it´s not an IOS based switch. Do you have any idea how to backup those dump switches?

Cattools issue saving config to Extreme Switches with script...
Hello,
I am currently evaluating Cattools for a client and have been happily using it on Cisco and Juniper devices without issue.
I am able to log onto all of the extreme switches and issue scripted commands with no issues, but when trying to save the configuration to NVRAM the "save" command times as as not receiving the expected response to the command. It makes no difference whether I select to say yes to prompts or not.
The script being applied is -
configure syslog add <IPv4 address>:5000 vr VR-Default local0
enable log target syslog <IPv4 address>:5000 vr VR-Default local0
configure log target syslog <IPv4 address>:5000 vr VR-Default local0 filter DefaultFilter severity Debug-Data
configure log target syslog <IPv4 address>:5000 vr VR-Default local0 match Any
configure log target syslog <IPv4 address>:5000 vr VR-Default local0 format timestamp seconds date Mmm-dd event-name none priority
save <--- fails here!
Devices are defined as Extreme.switch.general and amending the device model make no difference. Commands are being issued using the device.cli.send activity.
Any ideas?

Problem to connect to HP Procurve 2530 switch with Cattools

I am running Cattools version 3.6.0, now I am trying to backup the running configuration a HP Procurve 2530 switch. I have tried to enter some combinations of values under the "Passwords" and "Prompts" tab, but always prompted error messages. Can someone show me what value should I set under "Passwords" and "Prompts" tabs? Below I will show you how I telnet to this switch via command prompt. Thanks in advance!
From command prompt, I key in telnet 10.x.x.x, then press enter, then I see below page
I key in manager, and press enter, then I am prompted to enter password.
I enter password, and then press enter, I successfully enter privilege mode

HP Comware 7 Switches
I have been using CatTools successfully with Cisco and HP Procurve switches for some time now, but I can't get the software to successfully talk to a new Comware switch. Looking at the debug logs it looks like it isn't coping with the default Comware prompt format e.g. <sysname> or [sysname] for user or system view respectively. Any idea what I need to do to get it to work?

ps I have logged a call with SolarWinds but this is proving to be a soul destroying process. The case is flagged as not started after two days, I've left answer phone messages to no avail and listened to muzak for far too long.

Extreme Switches send command and save?
I'm doing an activity in Cat Tools which is using the Device.CLI.SendCommands function.
My command looks like this...
configure bootprelay add x.x.x.x vr VR-Default
save
y
I've also tried
configure bootprelay add x.x.x.x vr VR-Default
save
Whichever way I do this, it "works" in that the command is successfully added to the switch. The problem is I don't know if it has been actually saved or not. I'm worried if I reboot a switch it won't even have the information still there.
In the Cat tools logs it says "did not receive expected response to command save" and "aborting command entry due to command error".
The switch is definitely returning the usual "are you sure you want to save the configuration.cfg yes or no" and cat tools doesn't like that I guess?
Any tips on the general way you would want to send any command at all to an extreme switch and ensure it saves?
I found this thread from several years ago, I would have thought they would have updated the script by now...

Problem: I need away to control a variety of routers (the WRT54GL is one of them) in a lab environment changing their SSID, encryption scheme et al. Solarwinds Kiwi CatTools was recommended as a potential solution. The notion being control the router via CLI commands or a series of custom configurations. When evaluating the product I tried performing the Device.Backup.Running Config operation. I continually get the error "Failed to receive 'Current configuration' line in device config file". I reveice the same error when running Device.Backup.TFTP
I am a bit new to this. Is there something obvious I've missed?

Backup Cisco devices without enable password
Dear Sir:
My customer has some issue about CatTools backup Cisco starting-configure issue.
1. Because security concern, the user has no enable password. But he can show start-up config at privilege mode. So you can telnet to all Cisco devices and show the start-up config to backup it
2.When I user CatTools and setup devices type "Cisco.Router.noenable" to backup configure. It will not work. And show me some error , just like below
show config

So I think the srcipt type wrong command to cisco , Right ? Or Can you provide me other recommendation ?

Script for HP/H3C Switches
Hi!
I'm trying to backup the config of our new HP (H3C) Switches (5120, 5800, 10500). The script I created out of the Custom.Template is not working. The prompt of the switches is "<SWITCHNAME>", not "SWITCHNAME>" as in Ciscos IOS. So the script returns the error "Did not receive expected prompt when entering Enable mode".
Has anybody managed to create a script that works with the HP H3C switches?

SSH Devices - Please set your login for selected Protocol
Hi,
I am new on the forum and this is my first post. I have scanned through several pages and not found the solution to this.
I am currently using v3.3.14 CatTools and previously our devices were telnet and are now SSH2. When trying to add the devices to take backup I am getting the error 30002: Please set your login for selected protocol.
I have tried changing many settings and have applied changing the AAA and etc but I am getting nothing. Telnet devices are being backed up but no luck with SSH.
What are my options? What am i doing wrong?

Cat Tools alternate command
I have setup a device.backup.running config and that is working ok. When I add the use alternate command for a cisco router and use the "show ip arp" command the process just hangs and comes back with an error "failed to receive current configuration line in device config file. Will this work or do you need to use the activity "report.arp table. Also it fails to send an email out for the report on this activity.

Backing up F5 BIGIP UCS archive
Does anybody know if there is a way to backup the UCS archive on the BIGIP's, I think the current template in CatTools only backs up the config file. You really need the UCS archive to be able to restore devices properly.
