Has anyone been able to successfully back up UCS 6200 F/I  or Delll Force 10MXL switches using cattools?

If so, would it be possible to share the configuration that was used.

Thanks,

Dan

Hello,

we are using the Kiwi CAT Tools 3.6 to backup Juniper Routers but we have also Bintec/Funkwerk/Teldat routers in use.

Maybe anybody of you have already add this kind of Router and can give me the Script-File please?

Did any get Cattools 3.11 working with SonicWALL backups?

I have handful of SonicWALLs in field I need to do scheduled backup. However from what I can tell, the Cattools 3.11 still can not backup SonicWALL properly. Versions of the running SonicOS are 5.9 and newer.

Maybe it was my configuration issue...Here below are some screenshots.

Screen Shot 2016-06-13 at 9.21.19 AM.pngScreen Shot 2016-06-13 at 9.21.35 AM.pngScreen Shot 2016-06-13 at 9.21.52 AM.png

Other tabs are defaults and I did not use Variants if that matters.

I am currently trying to set up KiwiCatTools to take a Device.Backup.Running Config of my current Microwave Links which are NanoBridge M5, I have CatTools working for Dell /Cisco and HP Switches.

Following the advice in this discussion Re: Automate backup of config from Ubiquiti NanoBridge M5 (DD-WRT) , I set the devices as Linux.RedHat.Bash and have double checked all usernames and passwords are correct and have also added the prompt fields that appear when using SSH to access the links.

Can ping all devices from CatTools but Device.ConnectivityTest.Login always fails.

Firmware on nanobridges is XM.v5.6.7.

Create a custom device in CatTools

I am working off of the How to create a custom device document.  I save the Custom.device.template.ini to he /Devices folder and rename it to Custom.Ericsson.ATM.ini.  I htem change the name to Custom.Ericsson.ATM under the [device] field and id to 4999.  Under the [item_name] field i change default to Ericsson.ATM.  I then save the file.  Open up CatTools and try to add a new device.  Then name of Custom.Ericsson.ATM or Ericsson.ATM does not show up.  Is the document missing something as i  am fairly certain i performed the steps a per the document.

I am trying to use the Device.CLI.send.commands activity to initiate a TFTP backup from a custom device.

I would like to use the hostname to name the tftp upload file.  Can someone point me to how to do this.

The current script is:

netsave text-config 192.168.24.64 %hostname%-%date%.cfg

but this is not doing the variable substitution.

Capture Serial Number from Cisco Router

We have 50 remote offices with Cisco 1801's. I have the exciting job of establishing their serial numbers :-/

Can kiwi help. I guess the output I'm after comes from the 'show inventory' command. Or is there a MIB which can be installed into Orion which can be run to do the same job. The information i'm specifically after is serial number.

Custom Device prompts definition

I am currently evaluating Cat Tools but am running into problems with a custom device definition. we are using Alcatel-Lucent GPON equipment that uses TL1, the returned system prompts often span multiple lines causing problems in defining the proper prompts.

When I define a Device SendCLI Commands the defined instruction itself is executed properly but the scripts is waiting for the wrong prompt resulting in no data being captured although it is available.

Is there a way arround this problem? Additionally, a lot of the returned prompts contain the current date/time making testing for specific prompts difficult if not impossible, is it possible to use wildchards in the prompt definitions or otherwise instruct Cat Tools to ignore specific parts of the returned prompts?

Script for HP/H3C Switches

Hi!

I'm trying to backup the config of our new HP (H3C) Switches (5120, 5800, 10500). The script I created out of the Custom.Template is not working. The prompt of the switches is "<SWITCHNAME>", not "SWITCHNAME>" as in Ciscos IOS. So the script returns the error "Did not receive expected prompt when entering Enable mode".

Has anybody managed to create a script that works with the HP H3C switches?

I have been using CatTools successfully with Cisco and HP Procurve switches for some time now, but I can't get the software to successfully talk to a new Comware switch. Looking at the debug logs it looks like it isn't coping with the default Comware prompt format e.g. <sysname> or [sysname] for user or system view respectively. Any idea what I need to do to get it to work?

Thanks

Cattols 3.10 to FortiOS 5.2.5 or 5.4 doesn´t work

Hi,

since we upgraded to FortiOS 5.2.5 or 5.4 Cattools gives us the error message "Failed to connect to XXX. Reason: No respone from remote host. Will try again."

If we connect to it with Putty we get a session.

Have debugged the SSH from FortiOS but no error messages is shown.

The debug in Cattools doesn´t give any errors either:

We have tried all different SSH ciphers but with the same result. When we save the ciphers we can see that it sends it to the FortiOS and that it accept it.

Any ideas?

First prompt is the following:

login as: admin

Then the next prompt is the following:

User:admin
Password:

Normally there is no "Login as:" prompt
They drop you straight to a User: prompt.

Also uses SSH2 for the connection.
