We have 50 remote offices with Cisco 1801's. I have the exciting job of establishing their serial numbers :-/
Can kiwi help. I guess the output I'm after comes from the 'show inventory' command. Or is there a MIB which can be installed into Orion which can be run to do the same job. The information i'm specifically after is serial number.
The subject pretty much says it all. I was hoping to already be able to use CatTools to send simple one-line command strings to my Juniper EX switches but it seems determined to think of them as Cisco devices with the commands I see it trying to send - even though I've told it these are Juniper devices, and chosen Juniper Routers as the device type. I know these are switches and not routers, but the CLI is essentially the same for both types of devices. Is there anyone out there who's already been down this road and reached a successful destination? If so, I would SO love to hear from you about it!!

I have setup a device.backup.running config and that is working ok. When I add the use alternate command for a cisco router and use the "show ip arp" command the process just hangs and comes back with an error "failed to receive current configuration line in device config file. Will this work or do you need to use the activity "report.arp table. Also it fails to send an email out for the report on this activity.

When I try and run cattools I get this error: "you have too many copies of this program already running on your system or network. you are licensed for only 1 copy/copies at a time"
The strange thing is, I have no other copies of cattools running anywhere, there are no other users on thsi server, and this server has no internet access and is behind a firewall which blocks comms between servers. So even if there was another copy running it wouldn't be able to see it.
The error is persistent. We did recently migrate onto a new server, which i suspect is where it has corrupted the software. We uninstalled and reinstalled v3.5 and immediately the same error came up. It doesn't even give me the option to input a new license key.
This is really annoying and we are out of maintenance support. Are there some logs I can see that will tell me where cattools thinks it can see another copy running.

i'm just testing around with the trial version of the cattools and so far it really works good especially with IOS devices. But i know have a huge problem to get CUCM (Cisco Unified Communications Manager) or similar devices like IM&P or UCCX to run. I only want to send Commands to these devices which should work, but i'm not able to access these devices via SSL. He always seems to wait for the command prompt, but did not receives it.
My current device configuration. Everything as default. I only entered:
Host Address
Method: SSH2-nopty (This was the only working version. With the other i got Protocol version mismatch error)
SSH Username
SSH Password

I'm new to using CAT tools Enterprise v. 3.7. I have a Cisco 2960S switch that I need to backup the config on it via TFTP. Curious, if I run the script "Device.Backup.RunningConfig", will it cause any interruption to service on the switch? Also, once the config is backed up, how do I take that config and copy to another switch?
Whenever I use the F5.BigIP.TMSH Device Type and have CatTools login into a Device I end up with a (Changes Pending) when the device was (In Sync) before. I thought maybe it had something to do with the Activity I wrote but I just have the script login and logout and I get a Changes Pending. This is problematic. Anyone else experience the same problem.

I have been trying to backup up my OmniSwitches (6850 p48 variants) with CatTools.
The built in device is for omnistacks which doesn't work (Omniswitches don't have an enable mode) so I started to write my own template.
I can get CatTools to log in and dump the config, however only half the config is dumped.
Initially it appeared it was because CatTools was seeing the session prompt command in the config and flushed everything after it because of bCleanBuffer option in the SendCommandSingle() function.
I changed the GetConfig() function so that it when it calls the SendCommandSingle() function it is passing false to the bCleanBuffer to try and stop the above, however this only gave me a few extra lines of the config and it is still missing most of the config.
Now I am pretty much stuck!
Any pointers as to why this might be happening?
Edit: Ok, setting the bCleanBuffer helps (stops it clearing everything after the session prompt) but another part of the function s seeing it and then runs the exit command which is why I get a few more lines. Investigation

I get to the input of the password and get a syntax error. Since I get a syntax error there, the rest of the script never runs, it also gets a syntax error. How do I input a password at that point?

I've been having trouble getting the activity 'Report.SNMP.System.summary working with multiple Fortinet firewalls. I have confirmed all my settings on the server running Cattools and the Fortinet firewalls I'm trying to get queries from. I see traffic reaching my firewalls from the CatTools program but my firewall doesn't respond.I have also tested another SNMP program from the same server to the same firewalls using the same settings and that has worked.
Other functions within CatTools work great so I was hoping I could have some insight to what the script is doing and also any assistance I could get in this matter. I can post any data needed including debug data from the program.

Can the latest RC of Cattools perform config backups on Cisco Small Business SG300 switches? We are having a hard time getting this working over SSH with TACACS.
Kiwi Cattools is stopping after trying to execute it. Error windows pops up with message: "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author."
Tried to unistall and reinstall the product (Kiwi CatTools 3.4.0) without success. CatTools has been running since years without any problems, until now. Probably some other recently (automatic) installed application or service is the cause, but I am not able to identify; I have installed nothing new for the last weeks.
Any help or advise is appreciated... thanks
Does anyone know if Kiwi CatTools 3.2.16 and Syslog Daemon 8.2.18 are compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2? We are trying to migrate our monitoring environment from a Windows 2003 server to a Windows 2008 server and I'm running into trouble getting those two tools to work on the new platform.

I am running CatTools 3.9 and am trying to backup the config from a Brocade switch. When I run the Device.Backup.Running.Config script I receive the error "Did not Receive command prompt after connecting via SSH"

I'm trying to backup the config of our new HP (H3C) Switches (5120, 5800, 10500). The script I created out of the Custom.Template is not working. The prompt of the switches is "<SWITCHNAME>", not "SWITCHNAME>" as in Ciscos IOS. So the script returns the error "Did not receive expected prompt when entering Enable mode".
Has anybody managed to create a script that works with the HP H3C switches?

While running a Device.CLI.Modify Config job to modify the management access-list on Cisco SF-500 SmallBusiness switches there are errors and waiting times:

The cli commands are tested manually and are OK, but appearantly cattools does not receive what it expects.

I have been running CatTools 3.4 Free on an XP machine for some time and found it brilliant.
I've recently replaced this machine with a Win 7 x64 machine and installed CatTools 3.6 Free. Everything is working correctly except for the compare running configs which tells me that there is no change even when there is. This is occurring for several Cisco and Juniper models and they worked fine under 3.4 (which unfortunately I don't have anymore).
I dont' know if it's a cause or a result but the Dated Configs folder remains empty and does not have any history of the changed configs either. The version of the running config in the Config directory is always correct (ie it updates correctly when the activity runs) it's just the comparison and Dated Config that fails (or never occurs).
Please help, this is exactly what I used CatTools for. I've tried a fresh install and created new activities to no avail.
